Non-Partisan Election Protection Coalition Provided Assistance to Voters across Ohio, Mississippi, Virginia, and Pennsylvania on Election Day
The Election Protection (EP) Hotline, 1-866-OUR VOTE (1-866-687-8683), operating live on Election Day 2011 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., fielded over three thousand calls from voters seeking information and assistance from states across the nation. Overall during this election cycle the hotline fielded approximately five thousand calls. EP also had field programs in Ohio and Pennsylvania and Virginia. Overall problems highlight the need for election officials to do a better job providing information to voters when moving or consolidating polling locations and assistance available at the polling place.

Election Protection 2010 a Success!
WASHINGTON, DC - Election Protection, the nation's largest nonpartisan voter protection coalition, received at the time of this release, more than 20,000 calls to its 1-866-OUR-VOTE Hotline. As Election Protection has found in our programs over the past decade, despite the best efforts and intentions of election officials and poll workers, too many voters are prevented or frustrated from voting because of a registration and election system that is outdated and in need of modernization.

Election Protection Combatting Voter Suppression on Election Day
WASHINGTON, DC – Across the country, groups are mobilizing to monitor polling precincts for fraud but recent events show that their actions: poll watching, signs, slogans on clothing and other tactics can instead intimidate voters and suppress the vote.
