In Pennsylvania, lawmakers in both parties are expressing support of the effort for "relaxed restrictions on voting." State Senator Daylin Leach, a Democrat, is the sponsor for a current bill allowing for "early voting at designated polling places in the two weeks leading up to Election Day." Other legislation proposed by Democrats seeks to "repeal restrictions on absentee ballots," and furthermore establish a "no excuse" absentee policy-making absentee voting universally available. Though the Democrats have been most actively pursuing more accessible voting systems, the spokesman of the Republican State Senate leader "says he's open to discussion of ways to make voting easier in Pennsylvania."
